How does the DIY Wallpaper Designer work?

The Printed Wall has developed the DIY Wallpaper Designer with the assistance of our print partner HP which allows you to design and order your custom wall covering straight from your home or office. We have a large range of images to choose from or you can upload your own image/design. For a full run down on how to use the app please click here.

Is The Printed Wall Australian Owned?

The Printed Wall is proudly 100% Australian owned family business. The Printed Wall is a subsidiary of MotoSign Pty Ltd and has been operating for over 10 years in the design, print and signage industry.

What is your delivery time?

The Printed Wall prides itself on its fast turn around of it’s products to their clients. We always aim to have your wallpaper produced and sent within 3-5 business days after order confirmation and payment. How much does it cost?

We offer a rate of only $65.00 per m2 inc. GST for orders placed via the DIY Wallpaper Designer. We have a flat rate of postage of $25 per order to anywhere in Australia, which will be added to your invoice after your order is placed. Orders can be picked up from our office at no charge.

Please note that additional costs apply for images purchased from ‘Fotolia’ or ‘Pattern Designs’ galleries.

What material is the wallpaper made of?

Unlike some other products on the market, The Printed Wall use high quality films sourced from American and European manufacturers. The self-adhesive vinyl films are specifically designed for wall murals. Our smooth removable wallpaper film is suitable for both domestic and commercial applications and is also self-extinguishing with Class 1 or A rating (ASTM E84).

The most popular ‘smooth removable’ film has a matte look much like the look of a low-sheen painted wall.

What inks are used and do they smell?

All of our wallpaper films are printed using the latest in safe ink technology. Our digital printers use the latest in HP latex ink technology ensuring our wallpaper inks are odourless and non-toxic ensuring the safety for your family and the environment.

How do I install my wallpaper?

Each order comes with an easy to read DIY instruction sheet which is also available for download on our website. If you’re still unsure about installation, we offer an installation service in most areas of Australia. Will my wallpaper stick to all surfaces?

Our self-adhesive film adheres to most smooth wall surfaces (eg. painted plaster walls). We do not recommend applying the film to porous/textured surfaces such as brick or rendered walls etc.

If you are unsure about whether our wallpaper will adhere to your wall you can order a sample to complete an adhesion test on your wall or substrate. Contact our helpful team on sales@theprintedwall.com.au or 1300 728 251 to recieve a free sample print.

Please note: Most ‘Teflon’ coated painted walls are not suitable for application of our wallpaper film.

What if the wallpaper doesn’t stick to my wall?

Every order comes with a sample print to test for adhesion. If the wallpaper does not feel like it is sticking to the wall or the sample edges peel off the wall overnight, we suggest undercoating the wall in Viponds Self-Adhesive Prep Coat. Can I install my wallpaper in a wet area (e.g bathroom or outdoors)?

We don’t recommend the wallpaper film be used in constant wet areas of outdoors. However, we do have many alternative products for wet areas and outdoors that may be suitable for your project.

Is the wallpaper reusable?

Whilst the wallpaper is removable, we don’t recommend re-using the film once removed from the wall.

What size do the prints come in?

Maximum width for each drop is 1200mm however drops are usually supplied in 600-700mm widths with a 10mm overlap for ease of installation. We do not recommend wider drops without the aid of a professional installer. Should you wish to have drops in larger widths please mention this when placing your order online or contact our helpful team on sales@theprintedwall.com.au or 1300 728 251.

How do I know if my own image is high enough resolution?

When selecting an image on our DIY Wallpaper Designer, if you see a yellow warning with , this alerts you that the image may be pixelated at some viewing distances. The app automatically sets viewing distance at 150cm however this can be changed in the settings tab located in the top right corner of the App. Remember most walls are not viewed at close range, so read the instructions that the app notes and if you think the image will not be suitable please choose an alternative image.

Can you create a custom design?

YES! The Printed Wall has a full design team in-house to take care of any custom design briefs. We can design anything from a photo collage to intricate corporate designs. Additional charges for artwork set up apply.

The image I chose doesn’t fit when using the Designer App

As all wall sizes and images differ there is only so much scaling you can do to make an image fit. For example, trying to fit a portrait image in to a landscape wall can often crop details from the image. You may need to choose an alternative image or should you require the image to be ‘Photoshopped’ to suit the area please contact our helpful team on 1300 728 251 or sales@theprintedwall.com.au

How much is postage?

Postage is $25 per order, Australia-wide.

What guarantees or refund policies do you offer?

The Printed Wall offers a 3 year guarantee against fading and adhesion issues caused by a fault in the product or printing method. For a full run down of our T&C’s please click here

Please note: Although in most cases the wallpaper film is removable, The Printed Wall does not guarantee removability with zero damage to the wall from the following substrates:

– Surfaces with poor paint-to-substrate adhesion
– Wallboard
– Existing graphics that must remain intact; damage to existing graphic when film is removed
– Aged paint or metal that may have surface oxidation or chalking
– Outdoor, horizontal surfaces

The Printed Wall does not warrant damage to the interior wall surface caused by removing film even if a removable adhesive was used. Removing a graphic can cause damage to the wall. Due to the variety of wall surfaces The Printed Wall cannot guarantee damage free removal.
